An Invocation* for 40

All I wanna

do this

year is hold

this person

I love,

wrap my arms around

their waist

or back

on every single

goddamn dance

floor of this country

I don’t

care if there are

hurricanes surging

tornadoes brewing

floodwaters rising

or fires blazing

around every

corner

all I want to

do is eat

sleep

and make my

way to yet

another

dance floor

with

this person

I love,

the hurricanes

tornadoes

floods

and fires

are just

gonna

have to

come

find

me

there

*(an invocation for dance floors, not devastating weather)
